Tenancy Support Service
At East Durham Homes we recognise that sometimes as a tenant, you might need help and support to manage in your tenancy, whether this is help to claim the right welfare benefits, get furniture or deal with a crisis.
To provide this help and support we have a number of Tenancy Support services within East Durham Homes to help our tenants live comfortably and independently in their own homes.
Working together with our colleagues in the Council and other agencies within the community, we aim to provide a coordinated approach to tenancy support for anyone experiencing problems which could result in them becoming more vulnerable, not coping in their tenancy or becoming homeless.
Our key aim is:
“to provide advice and support to East Durham Homes tenants to help them sustain their tenancies for as long as they require”
Our objectives are to:
Reduce homelessness across District of Easington, including repeat homelessness
Reduce the number of East Durham Home tenants whose tenancy is at risk because of rent arrears, anti-social behaviour or possible eviction from their tenancy.
Increase the number of East Durham Homes tenancies lasting longer than two years
The Tenancy Support Service is made up of the following services:
