Housing Repairs and Maintenance
If your home needs repair work by East Durham Homes you should contact us as soon as possible.
Guidance on identifying and reporting repairs is included in this section of the website and also in the tenant handbook which has been distributed to every council owned home in the district.
Repairs Service Standards
Our repairs staff are committed to providing an excellent repairs service at all times.
We aim to:
- Provide an emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Meet our annual targets for:
- Completing reported repairs
- Made and kept appointments - Notify you if we have to cancel or rearrange your appointment and explain why we have done so.
- Help you to move furniture if you are unable to do so.
- Always use materials of a good quality and manufactured to the relevant European Union Regulation Standards.
- Carry out an annual Gas, Electric or Solid Fuel service of your heating appliances using only contract partners (private companies) who are included on our approved tender list.
- Inspect at least 10% of work carried out to ensure quality is maintained.
