New Structure of Customer Involvement

Involving residents in improving services is a key objective for East Durham Homes.  To ensure that you, our customers are able to 'get involved' and influence the services you receive we recently carried out a review of the ways in which we involve you.

The result was that we had too many methods of involvement and it was confusing.

We have also been working on helping to form a Citizens Panel made up of people from across the district who want to make a difference to improve the area.  Out of this panel a sub group made up of tenants and residents has been formed called The Housing Partnership to look at all the concerns related to housing.

The Housing Partnership is central to how we plan to streamline Customer Involvement at East Durham Homes.  In the new Involvement Structure (see diagram below) all the methods of involvement will feed first into The Housing Partnership as will all major policy reviews.  This will enable the group to inform and influence service improvements prior to approval from the Senior Management Team and Board of East Durham Homes.

It is hoped that these changes will improve the ways in which we involve our customers and strengthen the influence they have over the services we provide.
