Estate Management
As part of East Durham Homes' mission to create homes people are proud to live in, Estate Management teams are dedicated to improving the appearance of estates.
Estate Management Service Standards
We aim to:
- Visit every street on a fortnightly basis and draw up an action plan to deal with any issues that arise. If we cannot deal with it we will report it to the appropriate department or agency.
- Increase the number of residents participating in monthly inspections.
- Attend resident meetings to keep good working relationships and discuss areas of concern.
- Remove litter and other waste within 2 working days of being identified to improve the appearance of the estate.
- Arrange for the removal of wheelie bins on a weekly basis from gardens of empty properties to reduce littering.
- Ensure gardens to empty properties are cut and rubbish removed.
- Ensure that in the event of a property being boarded up, only grey boards are used.
- Refer older persons and disabled tenants to the District of Easington Council to maintain their gardens where there is no one who can help.
- Work closely with the police and other organisations to reduce neighbourhood crime.
