Tenant Board Member Elections
East Durham Homes will be holding an election to select three tenant/leaseholder representatives to join its Board of Directors. This will be the very first time that we have had to hold an election to select tenant/leaseholder board members, giving all tenants the opportunity to vote for who they want to represent them on the EDH Board.
There are three vacancies for tenant/leaseholder board members this year and following advertising and holding an information event we received a total of 9 applications. Short listing interviews took place and five candidates were selected to go forward to the tenant vote.
All tenants will be sent ballot papers on the 22nd August with a photograph and personal statement from each of the five candidates. Tenants are able to cast up to three votes for who they want to become Board members and the successful three candidates will be appointed at the AGM in September. The closing date for returning ballot papers is the 15th September.
The five candidates are:
- Steven Paul Colborn
- William Keith Robson Fordy
- Joan Kay Moyle
- Jean Scollen
- Thomas Matthew Wareing
Rachel Taylor, Director of Finance and Support Services said: “We have had a fantastic response to the Board Member vacancies and are really pleased that this year we have enough candidates to hold an election. This means that every tenant of EDH will be able to vote for who they want to become Board members.”
She continued: “We hope that tenants take this opportunity to use their votes and have a say in who represents them on the Board of Directors.”
