EDH Young Persons Forum Needs You!
The East Durham Homes (EDH) Young Persons Forum is open to young people in the area, either tenants or children of tenants. The group meets around once a month to discuss issues that effect younger people in the district, help EDH to communicate with younger people and influence the way EDH deliver services.
We would like more young people to join the group and invite you to attend the next meeting which will be held on:
Monday 2nd June at East Durham Homes Head Office, 2 Meridian Court, Whitehouse Business Park, Peterlee. The meeting will start at 5.00pm and includes a buffet and refreshments.
At the meeting the group will start work on developing their own page on the EDH website and will be discussing the idea of producing a calendar for next year.
Since the EDH Young Person’s Forum started in September 2006 they have influenced the way EDH communicates with tenants by introducing a new text service for tenants who want to become involved in developing services, they have designed a flyer to promote the group to other young people and they are hoping to further influence services by having a representative of the group participating in Board Meetings.
The group would like more young people to join them, one of the members Nicole Coxon said: “The young person’s forum is a group made up of committed members who dedicate their spare time to put young people’s views across and helps East Durham Homes understand what young people are thinking.”
Andrea Holborg added: “The group gives us a chance to have a say and get our opinions heard. It’s a great opportunity to help make a difference in the local area.”
