New Welfare/Debt Advice Surgeries Launched
As part of EDH’s commitment to a quality service, we are running a three month trial offering FREE benefits and money/budgeting advice at our Customer Service Outlets in Peterlee and Murton.
The three month trial will start from January 2008 when EDH Welfare/Debt Advice Officer Heather Wake will be holding an appointment based surgery on the last Wednesday of every month in the Customer Outlets.
Many EDH tenants do not claim the correct benefits and could be missing out on hundreds of pounds every year. The Welfare/Debt Advice Service was introduced in July 2006 and has assisted almost 500 tenants and identified approximately £100,000 extra in potential benefits.
Any tenant who has a query about a particular benefit and their entitlement to it, or who has been given advice on a benefit they have been turned down for can contact Heather for help. She can also offer practical advice about debts, or how to manage finances and resolve financial difficulties.

Murton Customer Outlet

The service is by appointment only and will be for a maximum of half an hour.
