Paul Tanney, Chief Executive

Paul Tanney was appointed as Chief Executive for East Durham Homes in July 2007 having  previously been Head of Housing at North Tyneside Council for 4 years.  He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing with over 25 years housing experience, having worked in a variety of posts in five local authorities during his housing career.  Paul's role is to give overall strategic direction and leadership to the company and he is committed to involving customers in developing our services.

Paul Mains, Assistant Chief Executive

Paul Mains came to East Durham Homes in June 2008.  He joined from Blyth Valley Housing where his last role was Director of Housing Maintenance.  He has 21 years experience in housing, 15 years in housing management and more recently had responsibility for the repairs and maintenance service, call centre and delivery of the capital programme.  He also led on two 2-star inspections for Blyth.  Paul will be focusing on improving East Durham Homes approach to equality and diversity and embedding a performance culture within the organisation that drives real outcomes for customers and major improvements in service delivery.

Rachel Taylor, Director of Finance and Support Services

Rachel Taylor has been with the company since March 2004, she was previously employed by New College Durham as Head of Finance for 5 years.  She qualified as a Chartered Public Accountant in 1995, following which she worked at KPMG for 3 years managing the internal audit service for public sector clients.  Rachel leads the support services team which covers finance, personnel, training, IT and governance.  The teams provide support to the front line services.

Michael Doyle, Director of Neighbourhood Services

Michael Doyle joined East Durham Homes in July 2008, he was previously employed by South Tyneside Homes where his most recent post was as Head of Service Improvement.  Michael was a key member of the team at South Tyneside Homes, which recently achieved 2 stars when they were inspected by the Audit Commission.  Michael has 24 years experience in housing and during his time at South Tyneside he was Head of Housing Management and involved in major regeneration projects.  Michael will be concentrating on improving the way East Durham Homes delivers front line services to customers and making sure we involve them in everything we do.
