Service Standards (Rents and benefits)
We will:
- offer you a range of ways to pay your rent
- send you a rent statement every 3 months
- when you accept a new tenancy, tell you how to claim housing benefit and how much rent to pay
- notify you in writing each year of any increase in rent and service charges.
If you owe us rent, we will:
- write to you within 10 working days explaining what you must do
- contact you after 2 weeks to offer advice and arrange for you to repay the debt
- offer you advice and assistance on benefits and debt counselling within 5 working days
- explain what will happen if we take legal action
- if you end your tenancy, contact you within 10 working days to tell you how much money you owe us.
