Investors in people
East Durham Homes were successfully accredited to the Investors in People standard in November 2010.
The Investors in People (IIP) standard is a national quality standard, which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people. A 2 day assessment took place on 6 and 7 October 2010 where the assessor interviewed a number of East Durham Homes' staff to find out their views and experience as an East Durham Homes employee.
The report identified a number of strengths within the company, including:
- People are clear about their roles and how they contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Communication is very good and comprehensive. This helps staff remain engaged and adds to their sense of value.
- A number of people specifically referred to the assistance that people have to achieve an effective work-life balance.
