Investing in Children
East Durham Homes has been awarded Investing in Children membership for its Young Person’s Forum.
The Investing in Children Membership Scheme recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative and inclusive practice. Investing in Children members are those services that can demonstrate a commitment to dialogue with young people that leads to change.
Since the East Durham Homes Young Person’s Forum started they have influenced the way we communicate with customers by introducing a new text service for customers who want to become involved in developing services, they have designed a flyer to promote the group to other young people and have been working on a young persons guide to housing.
Helen Mulhearn from Investing in Children said: “It’s great to see how the involvement of young people can have a real impact on resources and ways of working. East Durham Homes still remains the only housing provider in the county to include young people in the development and improvement of their service and achieve Investing in Children membership. Well done,”
