Improvements to Eden Vale estate, Horden

Following consultation with residents of the Eden Vale estate, they were asked what they would prefer to be done to an unsightly gravel area in the street.

All of them wanted to replace the gravel area with tarmac to form a hard standing for vehicles. The work has since been carried out by the District of Easington Council Highways Department. In addition to this there is currently an external painting contract being carried out to the bungalows in the area including the staining of the boundary fencing which will further improve the appearance of the estate.

In December 2008 following a request from a local councillor, Stuart Wood, EDH Senior Estates and Regeneration Officer carried out an inspection on the Eden Vale estate and noted that vehicles had been driving on the grass. He requested for an extra bollard to be fitted and a lockable type has been installed by the District of Easington Council Highways department, which has solved the problem.
