Garage tenancies

GaragesEast Durham Homes have a number of garages available to rent for tenants and non-tenants to store their motor vehicles.  Click on the links below for further information about renting a garage from us, the standards or service you will receive or to download an application form.

Applying for a garage

When submitting your garage application form or signing for a garage, we need to see one form of identification, this must be:

  • current, valid passport
  • driving licence
  • birth certificate
  • up-to-date utility bill.

Points to consider

  • If you wish to use the garage for anything other than storing a vehicle, such as storage, you are required to put your request in writing and it will be considered.
  • You must not store materials that can catch fire easily.
  • You cannot keep petrol or gas bottles in a garage.

If you already rent an East Durham Homes garage then you are entitled to apply for another garage, however, your application will be a lower priority than somebody who does not already rent a garage.
 
We will consider applications from anyone aged 18 or over regardless of whether you are an East Durham Homes tenant or not.

If you are a current or former tenant of East Durham Homes, your application may not be considered if you owe us money in respect of any rent or rechargeable repairs.
