Car parking problems at Hovingham Close, Peterlee
Following a meeting in August 2006 at Denehouse & Chapel Hill South Residents Association and a subsequent walkabout of the Estate we were asked if it would be possible to improve car parking at Hovingham Close in Peterlee. There was inadequate parking for the number of vehicles people now own in this area and it was causing a real problem to tenants and residents.Suitable land was identified next to the properties which could provide permanent parking spaces so Stuart Wood, EDH Senior Estates and Regeneration Officer applied to the council to fund the project from their regeneration budget.
Funding was approved and in February 2008 planning permission was granted and the work to provide 16 parking bays was completed in June 2008.
